Back in the day, guest books were just a way to compile names. And now, they're used to collect memories, am i right?
Instead of a BOOK.......
Have your guests autograph these fresh surfaces.
Be sure to provide the appropriate writing tools - glass pens for glass, pens for black surface, pens for fabric, etc.
01// River rocks, to display in a glass bowl
02// An album filled with photo-booth pics shot during the first four of reception
03// Quilt squares? To be fashioned later into a keepsake blanket (=
04// Cards to be hung from tree branches
05// A long scroll of paper that's been inserted into a typewriter, get an old-skol one (=
06// A video - guest won't be able to sign it but they can leave a message from the heart. to save your budget, get a mac / notebook (get someone to assist), instead of hiring a videographer
07// A poster size photo of the reception location, mounted / framed without glass and set on an easel
Where to put it?
A wedding guest book is only as good as the number of people who sign it. Station your momento-in-the-making on a tablenear the reception-site entrance, so everyone can write down their good wishes as they walk in
Grab guests' attention by decorating the table with colorful linens, photo frames, candles, flowers - anything catches the eye!
If possible, have a bridemaid carry the guest book from table to table until you've achieved full participation - but please be extra careful, beware of the food on the table that may leave stains on your guest book.
After the wedding,
The guest book is supposed to be a lifelong keepsake. Make sure you choose a type you'll be happy to keep with you through every move, remodeling and redecoration
Don't let your memories languish in the attic. Depending on what form the guest book takes, consider giving it an honored place on a coffee table, bookshelf (the best place) or living room wall.
Create an anniversary tradition by taking out your guest book every year.
After all, I've decided on my guest book that will be something got to do with LACE! And the pages will transform into my personalized pages with date and names.
Till then peeps. Happy Weekend!
